HERE IT COMES

This a maiden edition of a historical effort of bringing poets, painters and musicians together in an atmosphere of art undiluted. This year’s festival will have the award winning poet, Odia Ofeimu to lead a panel discussion of the festival theme-THE ARTIST; HIS ART AND SOCIETY.

There will be Over 25 poets/ spoken word poets from various cities who will be gracing the festival which will provide the much needed diversity in the artistic encounter that opens up conversations, “agon” and National idealistic development. 

There will also be an Art exhibition of paintings from some of the best students in the department of fine and applied art. So painting enthusiasts all over the world gracing this festival should get ready to take some wonderful painting home for subsidized prices.

Benin is well known for her exploits in sculpture, so in an atmosphere of historical sculptures such as the masterpiece of Sir Victor Uwaifo, the amazing feeling and appreciation of creativity and craftsmanship cannot be over emphasized. Therefore, the festival will feature a guided tour around some art works in various locations of the Ekehuan Campus of the University of Benin. Yes you correctly read that. – a guided tour round the Ekehuan Campus of great UNIBEN. I bet this is one experience you won’t want to miss.

Also on the menu, throughout the time of the festival there will be bookstands where known and budding authors will showcase and feature their works, on the book stand three official books will be on the spotlight, these books we shall disclose subsequently. On sale will also be some amazing books and artistic exchange.

The UNIBEN LITERARY FESTIVAL is one event that we are aiming to be a benchmark and remain a talking point for a very long time to come, that explains why we went all out to enrich our menu with the very best from out there and over there.
